Pittsburgh, PA (July 31, 2017) – Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy is excited to announce it received second place in the ‘Farmstead Category Aged 60 Days or More Made from Goat’s Milk’ at this year’s American Cheese Society (ACS) Judging & Competition. Its Hootenanny cheese was selected as a winner for excellence amongst 2,024 products from 281 different companies.
“To cheesemakers, these awards are ‘The Oscars of Cheese,’” said India Loevner, owner, Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy. “We couldn’t be more proud to share our cheese with Pittsburgh and beyond. As one of the few farmstead cheesemakers in western Pennsylvania, we love being part of this community and hope to continue to produce quality cheese for many years to come.”
Goat Rodeo’s Hootenanny cheese is a goat’s milk Gouda cheese made from spring and summer milk. It features notes of hickory nuts and wild flowers within a beautiful cream wax rind and pairs well with crisp white wine or an amber ale. Goat Rodeo’s cheesemaker is Matt Rychorcewicz.
Hootenanny is available at local markets such as Whole Foods, Stamoolis Bros, East End Food Co-Op, and Giant Eagle Market Districts. It can also be found at fine restaurants all over western Pennsylvania. For a full list of places to purchase Hootenanny, visit www.goatrodeocheese.com.

Each year, the Judging & Competition takes place in conjunction with the ACS Annual Conference, where cheesemakers join together to celebrate the craft of making quality cheese. This year’s ACS conference was held in Denver, CO, and the 2018 ACS conference will be held here in Pittsburgh. cheesejudging.org.
